At the Humanist Chaplaincy we’ve found that dry declarations and manifestos don’t actually do such a great job at inspiring the heart and teaching the mind about Humanism.  I know, an earth shattering revelation.

So we’ve collected a bunch of our favorite videos off of YouTube to not only help teach different aspects of Humanism, but also to inspire and invigorate the best parts of what make us Human.

What Is Humanism?

This first video is a beautiful crowdsourced statement on our interdependence, a fact about the world we live in whether we like it or not.  It has humans from over 100 languages participating.

A great statement on Humanism edited by the British Humanist Association.  It has clips from interviews with A. C. Gralying, Phillip Pullman, Tim Minchin, Polly Toynbee and others.

Science & Wonder

With over 30 million views on YouTube alone Symphony of Science must be doing something right.  This song is one of our favorites where they auto-tune clips of Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, and Richard Feynman.

Religion, Human History & What’s Next

An incredibly touching and imaginative short video about human history and human nature.  A story about both how we are on the verge on losing everything through our fear and ignorance and also how still have much to hope for.  Guaranteed to move you.

A statement on Religion, Science and our place in the Cosmos that only Carl Sagan could make so beautifully.

Atheism & Meaning

One of the best statements on Atheism we’ve found.  This is not a lecture justifying atheism or an attack on religion, but a deeply personal exploration of meaning and purpose.
